The walk has been arranged to repeat the walk that took place in March 2005, when Jos joined us for the walk up to Carr Head Rocks (we are using the routes Jos mapped out for us then – and the wonderful maps and descriptions of the walks which she produced). We will revisit two of Jos’s favourite places. If the weather is fine, bring a picnic to eat on top of Carr Head Rocks.

Morning walk: meet 10.30 a.m., car park at the back of Outside shop, Main Street, Hathersage. Please note: this is a patrons-only car park so you should put cars in the official village car park rather than here. You can catch a 272 bus from Sheffield, but should check the timetable nearer the time. We’ll leave someone ‘posted’ to watch out for the bus arriving before we leave. There's a 4-mile morning circuit around Highlow coming back into Hathersage, to join those who are just coming for lunch and/or the afternoon walk.

Lunch / Afternoon walk: If the weather is bad we’ll meet for lunch in the Outside café, at around 12.30 after the morning walk, and set off from there for the afternoon walk at 2pm. If the weather is good, the afternoon walk will start at 12.45 from the Outside car park and we’ll stop at Carr Head Rocks for a picnic lunch.
For the afternoon, there's a 4-mile circuit to Carr Head Rocks, or a 6-mile circuit, which takes the same route to Carr Head Rocks, but then onto Stanage and back down into the village via North Lees. For anyone who wishes to, you can take the opportunity for a reflective moment in the church yard, where Jos is buried, on your way back down.

Everyone is welcome on this walk - The more the merrier.

Photos and stuff will be uploaded here following the walk
