The registers are available in a single Access (.mdb) file, or in separate Excel (.xls) files.

Access is much better than Excel for handling a database like this where you want to set up queries and relate the tables to one another. But this takes some knowhow, and many people don't have Access available on their computers.

In addition to the burials, marriages and baptisms tables there are two tables which supply the keys for the occupation and address codes which are used throughout.

The marriages table refers to mother and father rather than husband and wife. This was done for simplicity when creating Access queries for relating to the baptisms table.
